Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American music producer and vocalist from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21st of 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes which was released at Sweat It out in July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to be a part of his collaboration on Rihanna's references. Then, later in the season, the music circulated all over Dreamville. On December 8 it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat, the track which she co-wrote along with Cozz to record The Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. She dropped Pho, her debut EP, on October 21 on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his track Change in the year 2017 and did a performance on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she was featured as a guest performer on two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. In November, she dropped singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 two new singles called One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. She appeared with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in November 16, and then she released the song in a solo version for Her debut album. On February 20, 2019 an official music video released for the song. The track has received nearly three millions views on YouTube during its initial week. She was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour along with 6LACK.
